Being a student during these times was equal parts inspiring and also worrying. Seeing people in my age group be so brave to vocalize their opinions and views despite police involvement and legal reprimand was surreal. It was inspirational to see how dedicated they were to protesting for what they felt was right. At the same time, I was worried as a student, which is something I am not proud of. This point in the semester is a stressful one, with final exams and assignment deadlines. Not having access to campus and some office hours, as well as being uncertain about exam dates was a little stressful. However, it felt shameful to be worried about something like grades in the face of dedicated protests and bleak events. I am proud of my peers for raising awareness for important issues and exercising their rights to protest.
